Buzzards Bay – The Cape Cod Canal Day festival is coming back this year on Saturday, September 18, 11am – 6pm, at Buzzards Bay Park on the Cape Cod Canal. Marie Oliva, President & CEO, stated: “We are thrilled to bring back the festival this year and look forward to seeing lots of patrons come and enjoy our local food trucks, craft beer and wine, live entertainment, arts and craft vendors, a “Kids Zone” for children, Cape Cod Canal Day Cup Cornhole Tournament, and a 5K Road Race. All these activities are sure to be a fun-filled family day.”
Admission is FREE!

Local food trucks include Lobsta Love featuring Stephen Coe, Seafood Sam’s, Noonan Concessions, Foodzilla on Wheels, The Lobster Trap, Tuk Thai Food, Johns Dogs, iGotta Q Barbecue, South Shore Taco Guy, and Pour Garden for craft beer & wine sponsored by Whalers Brewing Co.

Enjoy Live Performances by: Massachusetts Maritime Academy Marching Band, Joe Merrick Rock Trio playing the best of Classic Rock n’ Roll, The Fat City Band that is a 7-piece jump swing blues & New Orleans style R&B band, Ashley Jordan Band featuring Ashley Jordan who is a Nashville recording artist described as charismatic and a vocal powerhouse singer, a performance from The Pound Martial Arts Center, and Toe Jam Puppet Band for the kids.

Want to run in a 5K Road Race on the Cape Cod Canal that morning? Registration is only $25 and includes a limited supply of custom-made T-shirts. Or check out the popular Cape Cod Canal Day Cornhole Tournament, registration $25 per person. Simply go to www.capecodcanalchamber.org where you can register and find out more information on both events. You can also take a train ride to the festival through Cape Cod Central Railroad where you can purchase your tickets. Tickets will be available in mid-August, www.capetrain.com
