COME MAKE JAM IN THE HISTORIC GREEN BRIAR JAM KITCHEN

In 1903 Ida Putnam founded the historic Green Briar Jam Kitchen in East Sandwich and created an iconic Cape Cod Business.  The Green Briar property was purchased by the Thornton W. Burgess Society in 1979 from Martha Blake, who had worked in Ida’s kitchen for many years and took over the business at her death in 1950. Since the 1980’s popular jam making classes have been offered to the public. Join instructor Addie Vestal for a unique experience making your own four to six jars of something special to take home and enjoy or give as a gift. All materials are provided.  The following two hour classes for adults begin at 10am:  Wednesday, September 2 make plum nectarine jam; Thursday, September 10 make plum jam; Wednesday, September 16 make apple plum jam; Thursday, September 17 make apple plum jam.    Family classes for one adult and child (age 6 & up) working together are offered at 10am on Thursday, September 3 to make plum nectarine jam, Saturday, September 12 to make plum jam; Saturday, September 19 to make apple plum jam. 

            The fee per class is $85 for members, $95 for non-members and includes one adult/ child pair in the family classes.
