A nationwide one-night community event, celebrating connection, community, and belonging [BARNSTABLE COUNTY, 7/15/2026] – YMCA Cape Cod will join YMCAs across the country in hosting Campfire Across America, a one night, nationwide celebration of connection, community, and belonging. As part of this national moment, YMCA Cape Cod will host a campfire at the site of The Don & Dottie Smith YMCA, on July 22 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Stories will be shared, and memories will be made. There will be S'mores and campfire songs with artist Kim Moberg. This event is sponsored by Lawerence Lynch Corporation and The Home Depot. For generations, campfires have served as places where differences fade, stories are shared, and community is built. Campfire Across America brings that tradition into the spotlight, together nationwide. “At the Y, we believe in the power of bringing people together”, said Stacie Peugh, President & CEO of YMCA Cape Cod. “Campfire Across America is about more than fire; it’s about what happens around it. This is a simple moment made powerful because its shared.” Parking is not available on-site, but parking and shuttle service are available at Falmouth High School thanks to transportation sponsors, Kon Limousine and Atlantic Subaru. This event will offer guests a close-up view of The Don & Dottie YMCA construction process. Campfire Across America is taking place at YMCAs in all 50 states, creating a unified national story of belonging and connection. The initiative highlights the YMCA’s long-standing role as a place where everyone is welcome and community thrives.
