This summer, residents and visitors can shop from local vendors at the Canal Region Farmers Market at Buzzards Bay Park every Thursday from June 26 to August 28 from 3 to 7 PM.

Stephanie Viva, the executive director of the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce, presented the event to the Bourne Select Board on Tuesday, March 18. In addition to her role with the Mashpee Chamber, Ms. Viva serves as the director of the Lemon-Aide Company. This nonprofit organization manages the Mashpee Farmers Market and will also oversee the Buzzards Bay market.

The Mashpee market has been very successful, Ms. Viva said. By partnering with the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, she hopes to do the same in Bourne. All vendors participating in the farmers market will become “mini-members” of the Chamber of Commerce, providing them with business resources and connections with other local businesses.
