Southcoast Health Supports WACH Emergency Response Program |
|
The spirit of giving continues for Turning Point Wareham, with the recent receipt of a donation of $5,000 from Southcoast Health in support of the Wareham Area Council for the Homeless (WACH) Emergency Response Program. This program moves unsheltered people into motels in situations of life-threatening weather for the duration of the event. This is the third year WACH and Turning Point have organized this effort that has definitely saved lives, and the support and recognition from Southcoast Health is greatly appreciated. “As an all-volunteer agency, community support is critical to our mission,” comments Turning Point Executive Director Shirley Santos. Turning Point is the primary program of WACH, the south coast’s resource for housing support. “Through our Community Health and Wellness Program, Southcoast Health is committed to providing healthcare the extends beyond direct patient care. We are grateful for our community partners like Turning Point, and proud to support them in providing essential services and assistance to those in need,” added Ali LeBert, Manager of Community Health & Wellness at Southcoast Health.
