MEDIA ALERT Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands Renames Bigs in Blue Program in Honor of their Late Big Brother, K9 Sgt. Sean M. Gannon |
|
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands will officially rename its Bigs in Blue Program in honor of their late Big Brother, K9 Sgt. Sean M. Gannon. Though many weren’t aware, Sean was a Big Brother in the Community-Based mentoring program for over three years to a young man from Yarmouth, Rylee. He was still an active mentor at the time of his death. With the blessing of Sean’s wife, Dara, and his parents, Patrick and Denise, we are honored to be able to recognize Sean’s dedication in this way.
Through this program, we seek to honor Sean’s commitment to his community, his dedication to mentoring and to keep his legacy with us into the future. Brief remarks will be made from Big Brothers Big Sisters and Yarmouth Police, Chief Frank Frederickson, and a plaque commemorating the dedication of the program in honor of Sean will be presented to the Yarmouth Police Department where Sean served for eight years.
