Highfield Hall & Gardens presents The Cape Cod String Quartet Sunday, August 7, 2022 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Please join us under the tent at Highfield for a wonderful evening of music with the world class chamber group, the Cape Cod String Quartet. This renowned quartet has performed all over Cape Cod and the Greater Boston Area providing exquisiteness to the musical life of the area. In addition, all of the quartet members value participation in community music outreach programs as well as devoting time to music education programs. Composed of accomplished career musicians with advanced degrees from prestigious music schools and conservatories around the world, this group has delighted music lovers for years and just keep getting better!

The quartet will be comprised of Dan Flonta, violinist and founder of the Quartet, Lilit Muradyan on Viola, Bo Ericsson, on Cello and Meghan O’Connor, second guest Violinist.

An active member of the performing community on Cape Cod. Mr. Flonta earned his Master of Music in Violin Performance from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and his Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from The Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Mr. Flonta has performed extensively throughout Europe and North America. He is also actively involved in teaching.

Dr. Lilit Muradyan, originally from Armenia, began playing violin at the age of 8 at the Tchaikovsky Specialized Music School in Yerevan. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the Yerevan State Conservatory and moved to the US to continue her studies at Miami University of Ohio. She holds a DMA from Boston University. She has toured throughout North America and Europe and has performed in master classes with many accomplished musicians. She has performed regularly with the Cape Symphony and other New England groups. Her recent collaborations include Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, and The Who. 

 

Mr. Ericsson, a native of Skövde, Sweden, graduated from Gothenborg Conservatory of Music and the Swedish Radio School of Music in Stockholm. He completed further studies in London, England, and Cologne, Germany. Mr. Ericsson has performed with the Gothenburg Symphony, Swedish Radio Orchestra, Uppsala Chamber Soloists and was the principal cellist with the Bergen (Norway) Philharmonic for six years.  A founding member of the Berwald String Quartet, he toured all over Europe with that group. Mr. Ericsson held the position as principal cellist with the Cape Symphony from 2000 – 2017.

 

Meghan O'Connor began studying the violin at the age of six. A 2002 graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, Meghan received a BA degree with honors in music and mathematics. She is a private violin instructor and freelances throughout Southern New England. She has performed with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony, the Rhode Island Pops, and the Rhode Island College Symphony Orchestra. Meghan is a member of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, Musica Dolce, and is concert master of the Newport County Community Orchestra
