It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year at

Highfield Hall & Gardens prepares to open their doors on
November 27th for three consecutive weekends for the 14th Annual Holidays at Highfield.
Holidays at Highfield has been a local tradition for many years, and although we are currently
in the midst of a pandemic like none other, Highfield is busy creating a safe environment for all
visitors so we can enjoy the holiday season. It IS the Most Wonderful Time of the
Year………………. still!
“We want to celebrate the simple things and all there is to be thankful for this holiday
season. With this in mind, we have created several programs for people of all ages to enjoy
both outdoors and inside the house,” states Lisa Walker, Co-Executive Director. Soon to be a
new holiday tradition, The Winter Woodland Village offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the
maze-like stickwork sculpture where whimsical animals and gnomes engaged in all sorts of
winter activities, are found around every bend. Visitors to Highfield will find a dozen handmade ‘fairy-like’ worlds outside, inhabited by characters in storybook settings. The staff at
Highfield encourages all the surrounding communities to visit, explore the grounds, walk
through Beebe Woods, and drink in the outdoor festivities, and indoor activities.
In addition to the scheduled programs, Rita Pacheco, Event Designer has brought to life the
Highfield Home for visitors to tour and collect essential decorating tips to use in their own
homes this holiday season. “We are all spending more time in our homes than ever, and Rita’s
decorations will inspire everyone and anyone seeking to create original holiday décor in their
homes this season.” Comments Tara Burke, Co-Executive Director.
Free Public Programs included with entrance to the house are drop-in arts and crafts
activities such as ornament making, and cards and gift tag making using an assortment of fine
quality materials and tools. House music will be a variety of live piano, guitar, and harp
performed throughout the event. Musicians from the Cape Symphony, folk instrumentalist
Tom Goux, Friend of Highfield Judy Risch, are some of the scheduled performances during the
three-week event. To find out dates and times of each musical engagement and arts and crafts
activity please check the website. More music and entertainment are planned for outside the
house to keep the health and safety of the community a priority. The festive grounds will be
the site for Santa’s visits, Turning Point Studio Dancers and the roaming Victorian Carollers,
and where Storyteller Jackson Gilman will perform his Winter Wonders, where The Winter
Woodland Village serves as the dramatic backdrop.
The Gift Gallery will once again be alive with artisan gifts for all ages. We are receiving vendor
wares, and will host the Gift Gallery on the second floor, where there is plenty of room to
social distance. Please join us and complete your Holiday shopping at Highfield Hall &
Gardens.
