Artists Talks related to Ancestry+Legacy with Highfield Hall and Gardens

Highfield Hall & Gardens is pleased to announce a series of artist talks in conjunction with Ancestry + Legacy, the exhibition currently on view at Highfield Hall. The public is invited to meet the artists and learn the stories and layers of meaning expressed in the art. Artists will speak on their art primarily, answer questions, and engage in discussion about the themes. The exhibition explores connections with the past, a past that inspires and implores artists to question what they leave behind as individuals, communities and as Americans. Much of the work is new work for this exhibition exploring the concepts of ancestry and legacy in context of ancient and recent past. Some artists continue addressing their core themes and reinterpreting through a new lens. The recent past offered unprecedented circumstances when normal life came to a halt, separating people, and giving many people time for reflection and redirection. The installation of Ancestry + Legacy features a variety of media with each artist expressing a personal point of view, but all are seeking connection to a sense of place.
