Crafting Your Genealogy: Writing the Story of Your Ancestors With Highfield Hall and Gardens

Highfield Hall & Gardens is pleased to announce a writing workshop dedicated to genealogy and ancestry, Crafting Your Genealogy: Writing the Story of Your Ancestors. Bring generations of your family to life in this four-part course! Learn how to use genealogy to craft a compelling narrative and share the story of your ancestors. Author Kathleen Brunelle will lead both experienced and novice writers who have interest in family history in methods of inquiry to inform and guide their storytelling. With experience in leading classes through writing exercises using unrelated genealogical records, Brunelle inspires students and writers to stretch their imaginations. Come to Highfield Hall and discover the many tools of historical research and the craft of storytelling around people and events in history. To maintain an intimate workshop setting, registration will be limited to ten.
Born and raised on Cape Cod, Kathleen Brunelle is an English teacher and writer. She has published two books on aspects of Cape Cod history: Bellamy's Bride: The Search for Maria Hallet of Cape Cod and Cape Cod's Highfield and Tanglewood: a Tale of Two Cottages. Kathleen's work has been featured on radio programs The Point and Spooky Southcoast, as well as in Cape Cod View Magazine, Falmouth Magazine, The Hechinger Report and Education Dive. Additionally, she was featured on Genealogy Roadshow: Season 3 and Mummies Unwrapped: Season 1 (Discovery Channel). Kathleen currently lives in Fairhaven with her husband, Robert, and their two children, Baylen, and Mariel.
